Qubic Computors has approved a proposal that will see Qubic orphan the blocks of other Monero miners when the Qubic contribution to the Monero network exceeds 51% of the total hashrate. The Vote was concluded at the end of epoch 165 on Wednesday, 18th June 2025. You can track Live data of Qubic mining Monero via Qubican Qubic Custom mining dashboard.
The voting process was a rollercoaster. 3 days into the epoch, which as usual lasts for 7 days, a little over 40 Computors voted in support. But things took a drastic turn a few days later when over 80 Computors voted no, overtaking those in support.
This prompted Qubic founder, CFB, to tweet, calling for Computors to support the vote in support of the proposal because the project needs a critical mass of hardware for the next step of Aigarth.
The tweet from CFB seems to have helped change the mind of Computors, as the proposal was finally approved with a vote of 474 in support and 182 against.
Reacting to the approval, CFB acknowledged the support and listed the next steps.
Some Monero community members on X (Twitter) are upset with the votes, but according to CFB, Qubic will not replace Monero as Monero provides secrecy that Qubic does not provide.
