The Core development team of Qubic has introduced a new mining algorithm that comes with full support for Monero (XMR) mining on particular Windows. The long-awaited Algo is expected to be the foundation for Qubic reaching 51% of Monero mining Hash rate. Also, the new algorithm will kick-start Artificial Neural Network (ANN) training.

The new Algo will take off on epoch 167, but CFB has warned that it might take time to be fully functional as Computors will need to adopt it for their pool. The new Algo will be more CPU-friendly.
The announcement reads, “We will have a full mining period from 12UTC Sat => 12UTC Sun, the xmr difference will be increased to 150M to avoid overflow, this difference reserves room for 1.5Ghs in 24 hours straight.
“Internal/external in other times will remain the same. (676 ticks qubic mining, 676 ticks xmr mining, and so on)
“The new mining algorithm is very complex and may still have unforeseen bugs, all comps please put close eyes on your nodes this epoch for fast reaction.”
The founder and lead developer, CFB, posted on Discord:
“I revealed optimization which lets CPU mine better than GPU next epoch, if pools adopt it, then most of miners will be CPU, this will increase XMR hashrate. But currently, only 1 pool contacted me with questions regarding the optimization, so other pools will likely have CPU miners less efficient than GPU ones.”
