A Qubic proposal is the process of making a suggestion on the Qubic network and getting people to vote for the suggestion to ensure a democratic ecosystem. For most proposals, the Computors vote for it. A minimum of 451 Votes is needed for the voting process to be valid; any number less than that is void. Generally, a proposal could be about anything. It could be funding, adding a new feature, a change of rules, bugs, listing, appointments, and so on.
Note: On epoch 185, which ended on 5th November, 2025, a new vote proposal was voted on that allows only Computors to create CCF proposals.
Types of Proposal
While a proposal could be about anything, all proposals can essentially be categorised into 4 types:
- Computor proposals: This type of proposal is simply about making changes to the Qubic network, like a new smart contract, feature changes, and updates.
- Computor Donation proposal: This one is simply about asking Computors to donate money from the pool made per epoch.
- Shareholder proposal: This type of proposal is simply for shareholders of any smart contract to vote for any suggestion.
- CCF Funding Request: The Computor Controlled Fund (CCF) proposal can be created to pay salaries, give grants, and so on.
- Community Voting System: Any member of the community can create a community voting proposal where every Qubic holder can vote
Why is Qubic Proposal important?
Democratic control: It prevents an individual from having too much power. It also gives everyone the opportunity to contribute to decision-making in the Qubic network.
Smart contract and project management: Every new smart contract must go through the proposal and voting process. This can help prevent scams and spammy contracts from getting on the network, and everything is vetted by the community.
Continuous Improvement: It helps Qubic improve by listening to suggestions and voting either to adapt it or not.
Resource Allocation: It helps make funding easily accessible to people who have great ideas to build on Qubic but have no means.
Community Engagement: It gives the community the opportunity to discuss more and get to know Qubic more. Qubic’s telegram and Discord are often filled with discussions on proposals and potential impacts.
How to Create a Qubic Proposal
Follow these steps to create a Qubic Proposal
Step 1: Research and Plan
To stand a chance at success, your proposal must be well-researched and detailed. Think of the problem you are solving and why people should support it. You should also check if someone else has submitted a similar proposal. Do not just propose because you can, do it because of the value it will add.
Get down your key points and details. Compare it to successful proposals and see what areas you need to pay attention to. Generally, a winning proposal has a significant impact and value. The community wants value, not just another proposal.
Step 2: Write Your Proposal
Once you have researched and are sure of what you are proposing, the next step is to actually write your proposal. A good proposal should generally include:
- A problem statement: What is the problem you are trying to solve with your Proposal?
- Proposed Solution: How will your proposal solve this problem?
- Benefits: What will be the impact on Qubic?
- Implementation Details: How will it be implemented? How will it work?
- Voting Options: This is typically, Yes or No option
You can check previous proposals to learn from them.
Step 3: Publish your proposal
Once your proposal is written, it is time to publish it. Please note that this is a crucial step in advancing your proposal to the voting stage.
- Post your proposal where the community can notice it. Discovery is key.
- You should use GitHub if you can.
Step 4: Get a Discord Channel
Now that your proposal is published. You should join the Qubic Discord server and then post a summary of your proposal in the proposal channel section of the server. Then, request a channel be created for you on the Qubic Discord server.
It is through this channel that you will be providing live updates and engaging with computors and users.
Step 5: Get a Computor to sponsor your proposal
From 5th November 2025, only Computors are able to create CCF proposals. So if you need to create one, go on Discord, visit the Computor channel, and let them know of your idea and ask for one of them to sponsor you. You can also reach out to community admins for help.
Step 6: Create polls (Community Voting System only)
If you are trying to create a community poll for every Qubic holder to have the opportunity to vote, then it is very straightforward. Head over to the Community Voting System platform and create a poll. It is as easy as that. You will need to pay a fee, which will be burned.
What Happens After Submission
- Discussion Phase:
- Community asks questions
- Discord AMA
